there is a total number of 10.000 wild wolves in 2001 but it is difficult to keep up with the counting because of the illegale haunting and traffickils.

But in some of those country's there are projects running for the farmers how to learn to live with wolves in their backyard and how to protect their sheeps. In Italy is that project very populair and the farmers there are starting to like the wolves already. So if we humans try to live next to the wolf , they will find harmonie back again in their territories.
